Forensic Technical Advisor (NIST & Framework Specialist)
Location: Austin, TX (Preferred) / Remote (U.S. Based Required)
Status: Part-Time / Contract
Position Overview
We are seeking a Forensic Technical Advisor to serve as our primary subject matter expert on investigative standards. You will ensure our technical investigations and forensic collections strictly adhere to NIST frameworks and international digital forensic standards. This is a high-level advisory role designed to provide the technical "seal of approval" for our litigation support services.
Key Responsibilities
• Framework Alignment: Audit and refine internal investigation protocols to ensure 100% alignment with NIST SP 800-86 and forensic best practices.
• Methodology Validation: Review investigation plans for complex matters to ensure data integrity and defensibility.
• Quality Oversight: Perform high-level reviews of technical findings to ensure they meet the rigorous standards required for expert reliance in patent litigation.
• Strategic Advisory: Advise leadership on the evolution of forensic standards and how to pivot internal L&D toward market-recognized certified competencies.
Required Qualifications
• Deep Subject Expertise: Recognized expert in digital forensics with a mastery of NIST and ISO/IEC 17025/27037 frameworks.
• Litigation Background: Extensive experience in high-stakes technical investigations or supporting expert witness testimony.
• Strategic Communication: Ability to provide concise, bottom-line insights to executive leadership regarding technical risk and compliance.
• Location: U.S. Based (U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident).
