Lead Forensic Examiner (Consultant)
Location: Austin, TX (Preferred) / Remote (U.S. Based Required)
Status: Part-Time / Contract (Potential for Full-Time)
Position Overview
We are looking for a Lead Forensic Examiner to join our team as a Consultant. This role is for a hands-on practitioner who enjoys the "boots-on-the-ground" work of forensics while
simultaneously driving best practices across a growing team. You will lead active cases, mentor our existing technical staff, and help transition our forensic operations from
project-based tasks to a scalable, best-in-class unit.
Key Responsibilities
• Case Leadership: Take the lead on forensic examinations (Mobile, Cloud, OS) from initial preservation through final analysis.
• Team Development: Act as a "People-First" mentor, coaching the existing team on advanced forensic techniques and collection strategies.
• Process Engineering: Develop and implement standardized Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistent, repeatable results across all forensic matters.
• Documentation: Produce litigation-grade forensic reports and evidence summaries for use in legal proceedings.
• Operational Growth: Help drive the transition of internal training materials into a robust, certified forensic training program.
Required Qualifications
• Technical Proficiency: 5+ years of experience with industry-standard forensic tools (e.g., Magnet AXIOM, Cellebrite, EnCase).
• Leadership Experience: Proven track record of managing forensic projects and guiding technical teams through complex data challenges.
