Centurion Consulting Group is currently seeking a Network Security Engineer in Annapolis, MD. This is a hybrid role with a combination of onsite and remote work each week. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in advanced network security practices and technologies, and thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Associate degree in an Information Technology (IT) related field.
Active certifications:
Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE)
Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Enterprise or CCNP Security
Bachelor’s degree in an IT-related field.
Ten (10) years of technical experience in IT networking and network security.
Current certifications (preferred):
Prisma Certified Cloud Security Engineer (PCCSE) – Palo Alto Networks
Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) – Enterprise Infrastructure or Security
The Network Security Engineer will be responsible for:
Proactively identifying organization requirements and designing tailored security implementations.
Executing project-based engineering, installation, and troubleshooting of secure network environments.
Delivering network security assessments, designs, and implementation services.
Creating comprehensive documentation and managing implementations from design through acceptance.
Supporting internal teams with capacity planning, network monitoring, and performance analysis.
Leading or assisting with migration from legacy systems to next-generation security solutions.
Troubleshooting and remediating network security issues.
Supporting secure configuration guidelines and change management processes.
Coordinating and mentoring team members to resolve issues efficiently.
Providing regular project updates and documentation.
Hosting and participating in weekly project status meetings.
5+ years with:
Palo Alto Networks NGFW services, Intrusion Detection/Prevention, VPNs, Content Filtering, TLS/SSL Inspection, Data Loss Prevention.
4+ years with:
Cisco complex switching, routing, and wireless technologies.
3+ years with:
A10 Networks – reverse proxies, load balancing.
2+ years with:
Network Access Control: Cisco ISE, Free Radius, ACLs.
Microsoft multifactor authentication.
Cloud networking and security (Azure, AWS, etc.).
Wired/wireless authentication (802.1x).
Routing protocols: EIGRP, OSPF, BGP.
Microsegmentation and enterprise data centers.
PKI and certificate management.
Vulnerability management: Nessus, NMAP, Linux/Windows/Unix OS.
Packet/protocol analysis: Opnet, Riverbed, Wireshark.
Centralized management tools: Panorama, SolarWinds.
Operating system administration (server/desktop).
Ability to work independently and mentor junior staff.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Experience in creating technical documentation including diagrams, designs, and project plans.
