Job Description
Centurion is seeking a highly qualified candidate for the Systems Engineer position for the Integrated Defensive Cyber Systems Contract. The ideal candidate will have experience working on complex systems. This position is located near Lackland Air Force Base; all work is onsite.
This position does require at minimum an Active Secret clearance and an IAT II Certification Primary Responsibilities:- Prepare solution packages documenting recommended technical solutions and estimated costs and benefits.
- Produce artifacts to include system design diagrams, recommendation justifications, and technical specifications.
- Design and implement virtualization and containerization solutions using validated methodologies; maintaining and upgrading datacenter virtualization and network virtualization & cloud environments.
- Ensuring systems comply with relevant security standards and regulations, implement security measures, and participate in security audits and assessments.
- Help resolve issues that arise in implementing solutions and systemic incident resolution.
- Plan for scalability to accommodate future growth and implementing measures to scale systems efficiently.
- Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans, testing disaster recovery procedures, and ensuring systems are resilient to potential failures or disasters.
Basic Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical discipline and 8+ years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 6+ years of prior relevant experience.
- Currently possessing DoD 8140 certification at or above IAT level II, e.g. Security+ CE.
- US Citizen with at least a Secret Clearance is required. With the ability to obtain a Top Secret SCI.
- Systems development experience involving COTS/GOTS integration.
- Possess strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to troubleshoot complex technical issues and design effective solutions.
- Possess effective communication and be able to collaborate with Customers, cross-functional teams, document technical processes, and present solutions to stakeholders.
- Experience with containerization software (Spectro, RKE2, K8S).
- Experience working with virtual environments (VMWare, KVM).
- Must be able to prioritize tasks effectively, manage deadlines, and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience with administering Unix-based systems (RHEL 8/9, Rocky 8/9, Ubuntu)
- Experience with Basic protocols (DNS, DHCP, NTP, LDAP, etc).
- Possess the ability to adapt to new technologies, methodologies, and environments.
- Knowledge of Systems, Architectural, SW Development and SW Sustainment Practices
- Proficient in software development projects or software integration projects in a service-oriented environment (Cloud, SOA, Web-Services) or virtualization environment.
- Experience with AWS architectures and technologies
- Familiar with Amazon Web Services (S3 Buckets, EC2, Reserved Instances, etc.)
- Familiar with Git/GitLab or other source code control tools
- Familiar with System Engineering documentation creation (VDDs, diagrams, etc.)
- Familiar with team collaboration tools (Jira, Confluence)
