Job Description

C2's client, an industry-leading civil engineering firm, prides itself on the character and responsiveness of their highly effective and experienced team of dedicated individuals. They seek a Civil Drafter to join their team. The Civil Drafter will primarily focus on translating engineering designs into detailed, constructible plans and ensure they adhere to specifications. This role will require working closely with engineers and technicians to develop innovative solutions for complex projects.

Start date: As soon as they find the right person
Duration: Full-time, permanent position
Location: Onsite in Katy, TX
Compensation: $50,000 to $65,000 per year

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Drafting and Design: Create detailed and accurate civil engineering drawings, including site plans, grading plans, utility plans, and cross-sections using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D).
• Quality Control: Review and verify drawings for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with engineering standards and regulations.
• Blueprints and Plans: Prepare blueprints and schematics that are used by engineers, contractors, and builders to understand how to construct the project.
• Document Management: Maintain organized records of drawings, revisions, and project documentation.
• Site Analysis: Assist with site analysis by incorporating survey data and other relevant information into design plans.
• Revisions and Updates: Make revisions to existing drawings based on feedback from engineers and other stakeholders.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• 2-4 years of experience in land development, site development or related field.
• Proficiency in CAD software like AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or MicroStation.
• Strong understanding of drafting standards and conventions.
• Able to create full plan sets and bring them to their completion.
• Can incorporate redline mark-ups into plan set.
• Strong communication skills.
• Attention to detail to ensure accuracy in the drawings.
• Has the ability to understand plan and profiles.
• Can work with pipe networks to modify and update them when needed.
• Engineering degree is a plus.
