Position Title: Technical Training Commodity Manager
Location: Auburn Hills, MI

Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Technical Training Commodity Manager to lead the development and management of automotive technical training programs. This role is ideal for an experienced professional with deep automotive knowledge and a passion for creating impactful, hands-on learning experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and develop courseware for automotive technical curriculum.

  • Conduct training needs analyses and participate in solution planning meetings.

  • Recommend appropriate media formats and instructional methods based on course objectives.

  • Collaborate with engineers, instructors, and subject matter experts to ensure technical accuracy and effective learning outcomes.

  • Perform research and hands-on product analysis, including component and vehicle disassembly, to gain detailed product knowledge.

  • Ensure consistency and quality by adhering to established specifications and style guides.

  • Manage development timelines from project initiation through course delivery.

  • Oversee multiple training course development projects simultaneously.

  • Conduct “train-the-trainer” sessions to support instructor readiness.

  • Maintain and update existing training materials to reflect evolving technologies and industry trends.

Qualifications:

  • Extensive knowledge of automotive systems and components.

  • Degree in Automotive Technology or related field preferred; equivalent hands-on experience accepted.

  • 5+ years of experience in automotive technical training, curriculum development, or related roles (or 1–2 years with an automotive technology degree).

  • Ability to perform and demonstrate automotive service procedures.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across teams and disciplines.

  • Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word).

  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Experience with e-learning tools such as Articulate Storyline, Rise 360, and Adobe Creative Suite (including InDesign) is a plus.
