Maintenance Supervisor

BASIC FUNCTION:
 Oversee all maintenance operations, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and safety of all facility equipment and machinery.

Company Overview:
We are a specialty designer, developer, manufacturer, and packager of pure personal care products. The Maintenance Manager is responsible for leading the maintenance team and managing all aspects of facility and equipment maintenance to support efficient production processes.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of the maintenance team to ensure efficient maintenance operations.
  • Communicate effectively with management including Plant Manager, Production Manager, Supervisors, and other departments to align maintenance efforts with production needs.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor preventative maintenance programs for all equipment and machinery.
  • Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns; oversee troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs to minimize production downtime.
  • Manage inventory of spare parts and maintenance supplies; oversee the ordering of necessary components.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to equipment reliability and plant efficiency.
  • Evaluate equipment performance and recommend or implement upgrades and replacements as needed.
  • Coordinate and oversee external vendors and contractors for equipment repairs, installations, and routine service agreements, ensuring work is completed safely, on time, and to specification.
  • Oversee installation and commissioning of new production equipment.
  • Ensure strict compliance with all safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and reports.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with production, scheduling, and lab teams to meet operational goals.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES:

  • Maintain a thorough understanding of facility material flow and processing systems.
  • Possess a deep understanding of process equipment operation and advanced troubleshooting techniques.
  • Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement within the maintenance department.
  • Develop and manage maintenance work schedules and project plans.
  • Operate independently and prioritize tasks without direct supervision.
  • Support and execute directives from upper management as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 7+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment; 3+ year in a leadership or supervisory role preferred.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude and knowledge of equipment used in liquid filling or GMP-regulated environments such as pumps, mixers, and conveyors.
  • Proven experience with preventative maintenance programs and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Working knowledge of safety regulations, OSHA standards, and environmental compliance.
  • Ability to work hands-on while managing overall department operations.
