CMF Color Mastering Specialist is a key role within the Studio Craftsmanship team and is responsible for industrialization of color, materials, gloss, grain, and haptics with the production suppliers for Class-A materials used on the vehicle and accessories. This role requires a high level of collaboration with suppliers and engineering teams to ensure materials meet Slate’s quality standards and design requirements. The CMF Mastering Specialist bridges the CMF Design and vehicle Design Quality Teams.
What You Get to Do
- The specialist will oversee program timelines, a material development database, participate in design reviews, and be an effective communicator.
- Work closely with suppliers and cross-functional teams to procure on-time, production-feasible materials that meet design intent against aggressive timelines and escalate any risk. Traveling to suppliers to mitigate risk may be required.
- Supports all aspects of the color and material mastering process, including master creation, match-to master and master replenishment activities.
- Supporting supply chain development and troubleshooting to ensure CMF Design intent is met.
- Support Grain development and early AAR pre-texture and post-texture activities for Craftsmanship
- Attend Harmony Reviews and support Design Quality in Design Validation Approval AAR process.
What You Bring to the Team
- Bachelor's degree and 3+ years equivalent in relevant professional experience (e.g., Design, Textile Science, Chemistry, Materials Development, or similar).
- Farnsworth Munsell 100 Hue Test - Superior Color.
- Background and/or interest in Automotive color, material, and finish quality.
- Exceptional communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with demonstrated ability to learn concepts quickly.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver results on difficult projects with tight deadlines.
- Work with Materials Engineering as they conduct material tests and assessments to ensure compliance with industry regulations and performance expectations.
- Hold high standards for quality, attention to detail, and build strong relationships with other team members.
- Self-motivated, flexible, adaptable to change, and able to work independently.
- Ability to manage multiple parallel-path projects.
- Working knowledge of materials development, automotive mass production, and manufacturing processes is preferred.
- Experience in all Adobe CS programs as well as all Microsoft Office programs.
- Comfortable with change and flexible in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
- Strong visual communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively articulate and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
