Technical Field Specialist
Product Quality and Technical Service Team (Field-Based)
Position Overview:
This technical field position provides mobile expertise to support customer satisfaction, dealership service operations, and continuous improvement of vehicle product quality. The role focuses on diagnosing, analyzing, and reporting product performance and quality issues, as well as providing direct assistance to dealers for efficient vehicle repairs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Improve customer service experience through prompt, accurate vehicle repair and proactive quality issue resolution.
- Conduct in-depth, on-site technical analysis to identify and address vehicle quality issues.
- Report emerging product quality concerns to Product Support Specialists.
- Identify and report gaps or errors in service information (e.g., repair procedures, tools, wiring diagrams).
- Support dealership service teams by diagnosing complex vehicle issues and guiding effective repairs, as dispatched by the Technical Assistance Team or Technical Field Leader.
- Collaborate with Regional and Customer Care teams to address sensitive technical issues impacting customers.
- Thoroughly document all findings from dealer visits (Contact Reports), including technical analysis, photos, videos, dealer process evaluations, service readiness observations, and warranty review needs.
- Organize and host technical update meetings for dealership service personnel (e.g., shop foremen, lead technicians).
- Continuously enhance technical and professional skills through training and development opportunities.
- Assist with special projects to support team operations, such as tool procurement, meeting organization, and technical training proctoring.
Required Skills:
- Strong automotive technical knowledge.
- Recent, hands-on experience diagnosing automotive technical issues.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
- Strong time management skills; capable of prioritizing multiple activities with minimal supervision.
- Highly driven, self-motivated, and extremely organized.
- Detail-oriented with strong discipline and performance focus.
- Commitment to self-development and continuous improvement.
- Valid, unrestricted driver’s license and passport.
Desired Skills:
- Certified master technician or similar field, service, or technical training experience.
- Prior technical experience with European OEMs.
Work Flexibility:
- Extensive regional travel required (approximately 70–80%), often on short notice, including overnight stays.
- Occasional national travel and flexible work hours, sometimes exceeding a standard workweek.
- Rare, short-duration international travel (primarily to Germany, 4–5 days per trip) required.
