Roles And Responsibilities• Integrating customer test requests into our in-house developed dynamometer control software. This includes configuring channel setups and writing automated test scripts among many other items. • Translating documents and conversations from customers to fully functional dynamometer test. • Guide test engineers toward best practices for executing robust test setups. • Troubleshooting of testing systems and customer product issues. • Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to create concepts and deliverables used to efficiently complete customer test requests and internal projects. • Setting up small scale testing equipment including analog sensors, electrical instruments, cooling systems, power analyzers, delta analyzers, CAN bus gateways, Ether CAT chain manipulation and other customer driven requirements. • Electrical wiring of internal and external sensors to our data acquisition system and our industrial drive systems. • Troubleshoot, isolate, and improve signal noise as it pertains to testing setups and data output quality. • Calibrating testing equipment such as torque meters, pressure sensors, and flow meters. • Support commissioning process of new test to help the team meet deadline instituted by management and/or customer program requirements. • Provide directions for the test engineering team as needed to help meet deadlines. • Perform other duties as assigned. • This role is not eligible to participate in the remote work policyQualificationsEducation and Skill Requirements:• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (preferably mechanical or electrical), or related education and experience preferred. • Practical dynamometer testing experience and involvement with projects. • Working understanding of LabVIEW and how to use it with existing projects preferred. • Strong working knowledge of automotive propulsion and driveline systems. • Strong working knowledge of industrial drive systems and electrical power flow. • Fluency in the English language is required. • Strong problem solving, strategic thinking and analytical skills required. • Ability to work in a team, working cooperatively toward team and individual goals. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Demonstrated interpersonal skills and be able to communicate effectively with all stakeholders. • Strong time management, multi-tasking, and organization skills. • Strong attention to detail required. • Consistently exhibit appropriate attendance habits, working the hours necessary to perform the job. • Ability to lead by example utilizing testing group processes and procedures. • Ability to practically teach test engineers more difficult concepts as it pertains to propulsion and driveline systems. • Accept instructions and tasks in a positive manner, treating all co-workers with dignity and respect. • Proficient with all Microsoft Office applications and the ability to become proficient in any systems that we use (Concur, Kronos, etc.). • A valid driver’s license required for travel to customer sites, picking up parts, etc. Physical Demands:• Exposure to industry accepted chemicals and noise. • Regularly required to stand, reach, bend and move about the facility. • Able to lift and/or move materials as needed in the performance of assigned duties. • Requirements include, but are not limited to stand, walk, sit, twist, bed, life, see, speak, hear. • May require occasional travel (locally, nationally, internationally).
