Job Description
What You Will Do:- Apply engineering principles and design concepts - Work from Pro-E models, VisView models, technical drawings, and verbal directions - Assist with the installation and removal of engines in a dynamometer testing environment - Help assemble engine cooling, air, and fuel systems - Set up required test connections, thermocouples, cylinder pressure sensors, and instrumented test components - Make adjustments to the valve train, gear train, fuel system, cooling system, and oil system - Build complete new designs or assemble subcomponents - Support the construction of intake and exhaust piping, instrumented fuel and cooling lines, and modified wiring harnesses - Work closely with engineers to refine experimental and current production models - Assess and determine the reusability of engine components during assembly - Operate various precision measurement tools to ensure proper assembly of engine parts - Use standard mechanic's hand tools, portable power tools, power presses, basic machining tools, and powered cranes to assemble engines to final specifications - Provide detailed feedback to engineers on challenges encountered during assembly/disassembly to aid in failure analysis What You Will Have:- At least 3 years of hands-on experience in diesel or gas engine maintenance and repair, OR a 2-year technical degree or certification in diesel technology, automotive technology, or a related discipline - Ability to analyze problems and make decisions independently with minimal guidance - Strong commitment to safety and quality standards What Would Make You a Top Candidate: - 5+ years of experience working with diesel engines Physical Requirements:- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods - Capability to perform repetitive tasks - Ability to lift a minimum of 20 lbs.
