Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Oak Park, Michigan. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cost accounting, manufacturing, and accounts payable, along with proficiency in Excel and Sage. This position is responsible for performing a variety of accounting tasks, including bank reconciliations, monthly and annual closings, and financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities:- Perform cost accounting activities to ensure accurate product costing and inventory valuation.- Manage accounts payable processes, including invoice processing, vendor payments, and reconciliations.- Conduct bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.- Prepare and process monthly and annual closing entries to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and management reports.- Maintain and update accounting records and files.- Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate financial data and reporting.- Use Excel for data analysis, financial modeling, and reporting.- Utilize Sage software for accounting and financial management.- Ensure compliance with accounting principles, company policies, and relevant regulations.- Assist with audits and provide necessary documentation and support.- Perform other accounting and financial tasks as required.

Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.- Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting, preferably in a manufacturing environment.- Proficiency in Excel and Sage software.- Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles and practices.- Experience with accounts payable and bank reconciliations.- Familiarity with monthly and annual closing processes.- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.- Strong organizational and time management skills.- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
