As an Electric Charging Station Technician, you'll be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electric vehicle (EV) charging stations, ensuring they are operational, safe, and accessible to users, while adhering to electrical codes and safety regulations.

Responsibilities:
- Installation: Install EV charging stations according to manufacturer specifications and local electrical codes.
- Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on charging stations, including inspections, cleaning, and software updates.
- Troubleshooting and Repair: Diagnose and repair issues with charging stations, including electrical and mechanical problems.
- Safety: Ensure that charging stations are operated safely and in compliance with all relevant regulations.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed.
- Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service to EV drivers, addressing their questions and concerns.
- Site Surveys: Perform site surveys to assess the feasibility of installing new charging stations.
- Coordination: Coordinate with other technicians and vendors to ensure smooth operations.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Testing: Perform equipment testing, including insulation testing (megger testing), thermal imagery, torque tests, and performance evaluations.
- Documentation: Conduct proper, thorough, and timely documentation of related work orders, including all parts and warranty records.
Job Responsibilities
Working Schedule
- EV Charger Technicians may work full- or part-time, and they could be called in to fix problems at any time.
Typical Duties
- Travel to different locations to conduct onsite repair work
- Enhance charging station equipment reliability through electrical and mechanical preventative maintenance and repairs
- Troubleshoot charging station software
- Determine causes of network connection failures
- Correct issues related to credit card payment systems
- Configure digital devices using routers, modems, or cellular signal repeaters
- Help wireless carriers establish Virtual Private Networks
- Fix or replace broken screens and damaged plugs
- Investigate power disruptions
- Perform testing of circuits, insulation, thermal imagery, torque, and performance
- Find and isolate ground faults
- Respond to work request calls and emails
- Follow maintenance schedules
- Ensure work orders are done in a timely fashion
- Assist electricians in installing new charging equipment
Additional Responsibilities

EV Charger Techs must also take great care to wear personal protective equipment and to closely follow all safety protocols as they work around high voltages, currents, and cables that can be tripping hazards.
