Required Education/Experience: Associate’s Degree or equivalent professional experience in both diagnostic content development and technical writing preferred. Approximately 2-3 years of related experience including direct service manual development preferred. ASE Certification is a plus.
Summary/Objective: This position is responsible for the development and production of all aspects of electrical diagnostic material required within the electrical/electronic section for automotive service information. This includes the operating knowledge of automotive Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs), and including module system diagnostics, symptom based diagnostics, and other related electrical service information. Development will be in a defined format and involves interface with multiple customers both internal and external. Regardless of deliverable or style, this position must ensure timely and accurate completion of tasks which maintain compliance to both corporate and customer standards.

- Must possess a strong automotive or electrical/electronic background.
- Accurately read and interpret vehicle electrical wiring schematics.
- Accurately develop system specific diagnostics and electrical service procedures using OE supplied information.
- Develop and maintain strong customer relationships.
- Follow-up on all customer feedback. Ensure all customer revisions/modifications are incorporated.
- Excellent written and oral communications skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks to ensure efficiencies.
- Working knowledge of MS Office Suite (Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook).
Other Job Functions:
- Ability to work with domestic and international business cultures.
- Experience in developing diagnostic information for automotive service industry or an industry equivalent.
- Follow current diagnostic development procedures and processes as necessary to ensure all deliverables meet or exceed customer expectations.
- Solid understanding of structured documents (SGML/XML). DITA a plus.
- Manage time/workload to ensure successful delivery of projects.
- Exceptional attention to detail and thorough approach to follow-through on all tasks.
- Enthusiastic and well organized.
- Ability to multitask and interface with many personalities.
- Capable of adhering to schedules and raising issues as necessary.
