Delivery Operations Manager – FedEx Ground | $72K–$80K

Bright Flag Recruiting is hiring for an established FedEx Ground delivery contractor in the Fredericksburg, VA area!

Pay: $72,000–$80,000 annually + potential $5,000 performance-based bonus

Are you an experienced delivery operations leader who knows how to manage drivers, improve performance, and use technology to run an efficient operation?

We're seeking a Delivery Operations Manager / FedEx Ground Business Consultant (BC) to oversee daily operations for an established last-mile delivery business.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced FedEx Ground BC, Assistant BC, or Amazon DSP Operations Manager ready to take ownership of a growing operation.

Compensation & Benefits

• $72,000–$80,000 annual salary, based on experience.

• Potential $5,000 performance-based bonus after six months.

Schedule & Location

• Fredericksburg, VA area.

• Primarily Monday–Friday.

• Report to the terminal around 8:30 AM for morning dispatch.

• Dispatch typically finishes around 10:00–10:30 AM, followed by remote work.

• Approximately 8-hour workday.

• Weekend availability required for operational oversight; routine weekend terminal attendance is not expected.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily FedEx Ground pickup and delivery operations, including approximately 28 drivers across 18 routes.

• Manage dispatch, route execution, driver performance, and service expectations.

• Use GroundCloud, FRO, DRO, and Spotlight to monitor KPIs and improve efficiency.

• Review operational reports and use data to guide business decisions.

• Manage weekly payroll processes and submit for ownership approval.

• Support driver recruiting, onboarding, training, and retention.

• Monitor safety, compliance, driver paperwork, and vehicle inspections.

• Coordinate fleet maintenance and communicate with FedEx personnel.

• Provide weekend operational oversight and develop future driver leaders.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of experience in delivery operations, transportation management, or a similar leadership role.

• FedEx Ground BC, Assistant BC, or second-in-command experience strongly preferred.

• Amazon DSP Operations Managers, Dispatch Managers, and Operations Directors are encouraged to apply.

• Strong GroundCloud experience highly preferred; familiarity with FRO, DRO, and Spotlight is a plus.

• Experience managing drivers, dispatch, route performance, and operational KPIs.

• Strong computer, reporting, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work independently and take ownership of operational results.

FedEx Ground experience is preferred, but experienced Amazon DSP leaders with strong last-mile delivery and technology backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
