Job Title: Medical Assistant

Location: Leavenworth KS

Primary Responsibilities:

• Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations, keeping the rooms neat and clean.
• Show patients to examination rooms and prepare them for the physician.
• Interview patients to obtain medical information and measure their vital signs, weight, and height.
• Record patients’ medical history, vital statistics, test results in electronic medical records.
• Authorize new prescriptions, and drug refills and provide prescription information to pharmacies within the scope of practice and without using interpretative judgment.
• Clean and sterilize instruments and dispose of contaminated supplies.
• Prepare and administer medications as directed by a physician.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completed medical assistant coursework.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and acceptable approved abbreviations.
• Must have current BLS card or be in the process of getting CPR certified before hire.
• Must have and show the ability to provide full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
• Must be able to speak to others to convey information effectively.
• The ability to speak Spanish and English is a plus in this practice.
