Job Description

Our client is seeking a Finance Manager to join their organization in a key leadership role. This is a permanent, long-term hybrid opportunity, designed for a finance professional who will work closely alongside the current Controller to ensure a smooth and structured transition into the role over time. It offers a unique succession planning pathway, providing strong mentorship, continuity, and hands-on exposure to senior-level financial responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities for the Job:
  • Oversee financial operations within a high-accountability, audit-heavy environment
  • Ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely financial reporting in alignment with government funding requirements
  • Support and maintain strong internal controls and audit readiness
  • Collaborate closely with senior leadership, including the CEO, on financial planning and reporting
  • Assist in transitioning financial leadership responsibilities as part of succession planning
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of financial processes and reporting systems
  • Provide guidance and support to finance staff and cross-functional teams
Experience & Attributes for Success: 
  • Chartered Professional Accountant designation (CPA) is preferred
  • Post-secondary education in Finance, Accounting, or a related field 
  • Minimum of 5 – 8 years of relevant experience
  • Proven experience in financial reporting, compliance, and audit preparation
  • Comfortable working in environments with government funding or strict regulatory requirements
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work closely with senior leadership
  • Collaborative mindset with a willingness to learn and grow into a leadership role
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
