Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Payable Administrator for a 2-week contract with our client in Halifax, NS. This temporary role involves supporting the accounts payable function in a property management environment, with a focus on timely and accurate invoice processing and maintaining financial records.

Key Responsibilities for the Job:
  • Process and manage invoices, ensuring accuracy and compliance 
  • Verify receipts, purchase orders, and other documentation 
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
  • Prepare and execute payments via checks, electronic transfers, and credit cards
  • Assist in month-end closing processes, including accruals and financial reporting
  • Maintain organized records of all accounts payable transactions
  • Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and reports
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements within the accounts payable function
  • Perform additional duties as required to support the finance team and company operations
Experience & Attributes for Success:
  • Previous experience in an accounts payable or accounting role is preferred
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as Yardi, Buildium, Quickbooks or similar platforms is highly desirable
  • Familiarity with payroll processes is a plus
  • Strong data entry skills with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to analyze financial data and generate reports effectively
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
  • Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with vendors and team members
