Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Legal Administrative Assistant to support our clients’ busy legal practice in the heart of Halifax, NS.

The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, the ability to multitask, and a commitment to delivering exceptional administrative support in a professional environment. This is a part-time, ongoing contract role (mornings only, Monday to Friday) with a strong potential to become permanent

Key Responsibilities for the Job:

  • Manage and coordinate workflow to ensure efficiency within the assigned lawyer(s) practice
  • Perform general administrative duties, including incorporation and records management
  • Schedule and arrange appointments, and handle incoming and outgoing correspondence, including mail, email, and phone calls
  • Distribute incoming mail, coordinate couriers, and manage office supply orders
  • Ensure client inquiries are handled promptly and professionally
  • Perform additional duties as assigned based on firm requirements

Experience & Attributes for Success:

  • Post-secondary education or equivalent knowledge/experience
  • Prior legal administrative experience in Corporate and Litigation law; Paralegal experience is an asset
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel) and Adobe Acrobat Pro
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with attention to spelling and grammar
  • Energetic, adaptable, and willing to take on various tasks as needed
