Job Description

Our client, a well-established local business in Paradise, NL is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their team in a full-time, permanent, in-office role. 

As the successful candidate, you will oversee the company’s finance and accounting functions while reporting to the President.  

Key Responsibilities for the Job:

• Preparation of monthly and year-end financial reports
• Year-end audit working papers and file year-end corporate and personal taxes
• Financial analysis and recommendations to senior management
• Identify financial risks and maintain internal controls
• Account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data
• Reconciliation and filing of HST Returns
• Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable processes and postings
• Cash flow management
• Prepare budgets and financial projections

Experience & Attributes for Success:

• Post-secondary education in Accounting or Finance (or an equivalent combination of education and experience)
• CPA or equivalent professional designation is strongly preferred
• Minimum 5 years' progressive accounting experience
• Experience with Quickbooks software is a definite asset
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and procedures
• Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
