Job Description

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and collaborative Financial Controller to join our client, Score Group, a vibrant and dynamic organization providing specialized engineering services based in St. John’s, NL. This is a key leadership position with significant responsibility in managing the finance function across the region.

The ideal candidate will have exceptional leadership abilities and strategic management expertise, playing a pivotal role in shaping and guiding the accounting team at Score Group.

Key Responsibilities for the Job:

  • Manage all budgetary and financial matters for the region
  • Oversee and direct all accounting operations and teams
  • Mange and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts
  • Variance and financial reporting
  • Assist with both interim and annual audit processes
  • Manage year-end external audit
  • Ensure compliance and internal controls
  • Review, develop, and implement policies and procedures
  • Provide leadership and direction to accounting and administrative staff

Experience & Attributes for Success:

  • Post-secondary education in Business, Accounting or other related field, with a strong and analytical background
  • Chartered Professional Designation (CPA) or recognized equivalent
  • Minimum of five years’ relevant experience, with proven leadership experience in managing complex financial operations
  • Proven strategic leadership and financial planning experience
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and drive financial performance and business growth
  • Ability to work under pressure while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Professional and adaptable communication skills, with the ability to work a variety of staff members and partners
