Our Chartered Professional Accountant firm client in St. John’s, Newfoundland is expanding its client-base and seeking a Senior Accountant to join their vibrant and growing team.

As the successful candidate, you are a recent (2+ years) CPA graduate, with a driven work ethic who thrives in  a fast-paced client based environment. This is a permanent opportunity.

Key Responsibilities for the Job:

  • Plan, execute, and finalize audit engagements, including risk assessment, testing, and reporting.
  • Analyze, prepare, and file corporate and personal income tax returns, as well as trust and HST returns
  • Ensure engagements are completed within deadlines and budgets
  • Review and approve audit reports, financial statements, and management letters.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of accounting professionals
  • Act as a primary point of contact for clients, building and maintaining strong relationships.
    Identify client needs and offer solutions to enhance their financial reporting processes

Experience & Attributes for Success:

  • Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) Designation
  • 2 - 4 years of experience in audit and assurance, preferably as a CPA in public practice
  • Proficiency with Sage, Quickbooks, Profile and/or CaseWare is a definite asset
  • Superior communication skills and a client-focused approach
  • Positive attitude and interpersonal skills with the ability and desire to thrive in an engaged team environment
  • Ability to meet project deadlines within timeframes and budgets
  • Strong organizational skills and a detail-oriented work ethic
