Job Description:
The Investment Operations and Reporting position supports the financial and operational activities of the investment office, with the level of responsibility tailored to the experience of the individual. The role can include both supporting and leading key processes, depending on background and career stage.
The work involves close coordination with internal colleagues, custodians, accounting teams, and external service providers to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance in all operational functions.
Key responsibilities include:
• Managing or supporting the relationship with the investment custodian, including accounting, tax, and performance reporting activities
• Reconciling and validating accounting and performance data, identifying issues, and resolving discrepancies with stakeholders
• Preparing reports for internal staff, oversight committees, and governance groups
• Learning and leveraging custodial systems, supporting system updates, and implementing new tools
• Assisting with or overseeing onboarding of new investments into internal systems and custodial accounts
• Maintaining documentation such as contracts, amendments, and investment management agreements
• Supporting cash management processes, including daily reconciliations and cash forecasting tools
• Collecting, organizing, and reporting investment management fees
• Responding to audit and tax data requests in collaboration with internal and external teams
• Handling compliance, tax, and regulatory information requests from investment managers
• Contributing to industry surveys and external data requests
• Driving process improvement initiatives to enhance reporting, documentation, and data management
This role requires minimal travel, with occasional attendance at meetings or industry conferences. Oversight will be provided by senior investment leadership, with the opportunity for greater autonomy depending on experience.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field
• 2+ years of relevant experience preferred (such as accounting, investment operations, banking operations, or financial services)
• Solid understanding of accounting principles, with interest in applying them to investment operations
• Strong analytical skills with close attention to accuracy and detail
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office tools (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams)
• Comfort with technology and openness to learning new platforms, including AI-enabled tools
• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
• Strong organizational abilities and ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment
• Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively with internal colleagues and external partners
• CPA or CFA designation preferred, or interest in pursuing a professional credential encouraged
