Job Description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Senior Accounts Payable Specialist to oversee and manage the full-cycle accounts payable process. This in-office role is ideal for someone with strong analytical skills and a commitment to maintaining accuracy in a high-volume setting. Responsibilities include:
• Processing and reviewing a high volume of invoices for accuracy, appropriate approvals, and proper account coding
• Managing vendor payments, including check runs, ACH, and wire transfers, while ensuring payment terms are met
• Reconciling vendor statements and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner
• Serving as the primary point of contact for vendor inquiries and maintaining positive working relationships
• Assisting with month-end closing activities, including accruals and reporting
• Collaborating with internal departments to ensure proper invoice documentation and expense allocation
• Identifying and implementing process improvements for greater efficiency and accuracy
• Ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations related to accounts payable
• Supporting audits by providing requested documentation and responding to inquiries
• Assisting with onboarding and training of new AP team members as needed
Qualifications:
• 5+ years of experience in full-cycle accounts payable
• Proficiency in ERP/accounting software systems; experience with systems such as SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite is a plus
• Strong understanding of GAAP as it relates to accounts payable
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including experience with pivot tables and VLOOKUPs
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred but not required based on experience
