Job Description:
The Tax Accountant will be responsible for preparing and reviewing tax filings for individuals, businesses, and organizations. This role involves ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws while providing strategic tax advice to clients. The position also includes opportunities for professional development and advancement within the firm.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare and review individual, corporate, partnership, and trust tax returns.
• Conduct tax research and provide recommendations for compliance and planning opportunities.
• Advise clients on tax-related matters, including potential deductions, credits, and planning strategies.
• Assist with tax audits, including gathering necessary documentation and liaising with tax authorities.
• Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance and provide updated advice to clients.
• Collaborate with clients to gather financial data, analyze tax implications, and provide solutions tailored to their needs.
• Support quarterly and annual tax provision calculations and reporting.
• Contribute to the firm’s efforts in developing client relationships and enhancing service delivery.
Qualifications:
Education and Certifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required).
• CPA certification or eligibility to sit for the CPA exam (preferred).
Experience:
• Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in tax preparation and compliance (required).
• Public accounting experience (preferred).
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Strong understanding of federal, state, and local tax laws.
• Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
