Job Description:
The Staff Accountant will play a key role in supporting the financial operations of the organization, reporting directly to the Senior Accountant. This position will be responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and assisting with grant program budgets and expenditures. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple tasks effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
• Process accounts receivable and accounts payable transactions, maintaining accurate financial records.
• Prepare and monitor budgets for grant programs, ensuring expenditures align with program requirements.
• Review grant-related expenditures to confirm compliance with all relevant guidelines.
• Generate and submit financial and fiscal reports related to grant programs.
• Support the Controller, Director of Administration, and administrative staff on financial matters as needed.
• Monitor sub-recipients to verify compliance with grant terms.
• Assist in various administrative projects and tasks as directed by senior staff.
Qualifications:
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a directly related field from an accredited four-year college or university.
• Experience: Minimum of 1 year of relevant accounting experience, including internships or similar roles. A graduate degree in a related field may substitute for 1 year of experience.
• Skills:
o Familiarity with accounting software applications and basic knowledge of current GAAP standards.
o Understanding of Federal Cost Principles and Audit Requirements (2 CFR Part 200) is preferred.
o Strong organizational and time-management skills with an ability to manage multiple projects.
o Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the United States.
