Commercial Supermarket Rack Refrigeration Technician

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Supermarket  Rack Refrigeration Technician to diagnose, repair, maintain, and troubleshoot supermarket rack refrigeration systems while ensuring reliable operation and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain supermarket refrigeration systems, including parallel rack systems, compressors, condensers, evaporators, refrigerant piping, walk-in coolers/freezers, display cases, reach-in coolers, and ice machines.
• Troubleshoot refrigeration, electrical, controls, EPR valves, expansion valves, defrost systems, case controllers, and EMS/BMS platforms.
• Perform preventive maintenance, leak detection, refrigerant recovery, evacuation, charging, and system performance checks.
• Read wiring diagrams, pressure-temperature charts, and mechanical blueprints.
• Complete service reports, communicate findings with customers and management, participate in an on-call rotation, and follow EPA, OSHA, and company safety standards.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial refrigeration experience, must have supermarket rack systems.
• EPA Universal Certification required.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Strong refrigeration and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work independently, provide excellent customer service, lift 50+ lbs, and work in various environmental conditions.

Preferred

• Experience with Hillphoenix, Hussmann, Zero Zone, Kysor Warren, Tyler, Copeland, Bitzer, Carlyle, and Danfoss equipment.
• Knowledge of CO₂, glycol, cascade, and DX refrigeration systems.
• Familiarity with Emerson E2, Danfoss, Carel, CPC, and other refrigeration control platforms.
• Experience working in occupied grocery stores with minimal disruption.
