Positions: 2 Day Well Test Supervisor and Night Well Test Supervisor
We are seeking two experienced Well Test Supervisors to support the planning and execution of two onshore high-rate gas well tests during H1 2027.
The successful candidates will provide experienced wellsite leadership across 24-hour well testing operations, with particular emphasis on surface well testing, well test equipment QA/QC, safe execution and coordination of associated wireline and e-line activities.
The roles will initially support preparation and operational readiness activities ahead of the first anticipated well test in late February 2027, before transitioning into wellsite execution.
Provide day or night shift supervision of 24-hour well testing operations.
Lead the safe and efficient execution of high-rate gas surface well testing activities.
Coordinate and supervise well test service providers and associated wellsite personnel.
Oversee mobilisation, rig-up, pressure testing, commissioning, operation and rig-down of surface well test equipment.
Conduct and support QA/QC and readiness assurance of well testing equipment prior to operations.
Coordinate interfaces with associated wireline and e-line operations, including:
Perforating
Swabbing
Downhole gauges (DHGs)
Production logging tools (PLT)
Isolation activities
Other well intervention activities associated with the test program
Ensure operations are conducted in accordance with the approved Well Test Program, procedures, permits and operating requirements.
Provide strong wellsite leadership and maintain effective communication between the operator, drilling/wellsite team and service contractors.
Participate in operational planning and risk assessment activities including HAZOP, HAZID, TWOP and other relevant workshops.
Support preparation and review of well test programs, procedures, checklists and operational readiness documentation.
Assist in capturing and closing actions arising from FSA and other operational assurance workshops.
Support development and implementation of lessons learned from previous operations.
Identify operational risks, equipment deficiencies and potential execution issues and ensure these are appropriately addressed prior to commencement of testing.
Monitor well test performance and ensure operating parameters remain within approved limits.
Maintain accurate shift handovers, operational records and reporting throughout the campaign.
Candidates should demonstrate:
Significant experience as a Well Test Supervisor / Senior Well Test Operator with responsibility for supervising well testing operations.
Strong hands-on surface well testing experience, particularly on high-rate gas wells.
Demonstrated land-based / onshore well testing experience.
Strong understanding of surface well test packages, pressure control equipment, flowlines, separators, choke manifolds, burners/flare systems and associated equipment.
Experience coordinating well testing with wireline/e-line and other well intervention activities.
Demonstrated experience supervising service contractors and providing effective wellsite leadership.
Strong understanding of well control, pressure containment and process safety associated with high-pressure gas testing operations.
Experience undertaking equipment QA/QC, readiness reviews and pre-job assurance activities.
Experience participating in HAZOP, HAZID, operational risk assessments and well test planning workshops.
Ability to work effectively within an integrated operator and contractor wellsite team.
Strong communication, reporting and shift handover skills.
IWCF Well Control certification current and appropriate to the role.
PTW Level 3 (PTW3) or equivalent recognised Permit to Work competency.
Current industry-standard offshore/onshore safety and emergency response training as applicable to the worksite.
Australian working rights or appropriate ability to work in Australia.
Preference will be given to candidates with:
Previous Australian onshore gas well testing experience.
Perth Basin or comparable high-rate gas well experience.
Experience working on development or step-out wells.
Previous involvement in well test planning and operational readiness activities prior to execution.
Experience working directly on behalf of an operator as a Well Test Supervisor or Company Representative.
The assignment is expected to commence in late January 2027, providing sufficient time for planning, equipment assurance and operational readiness ahead of the first anticipated well test in late February 2027.
