Frac Supervisor

Onshore Queensland | 3–6 Month Contract | Q1 2027 Start

Point of Hire: Queensland (Mobilisation to Wellsite)


Campaign Overview

Zenith Energy is seeking an experienced Frac Supervisor to support an upcoming onshore Queensland hydraulic fracturing campaign commencing in Q1 2027.

Working as the Operator's Wellsite Representative, you will oversee the safe and efficient execution of hydraulic fracturing operations, ensuring activities are delivered in accordance with the approved programme, HSE requirements and operational objectives. Acting as the primary interface between the Operator and service providers, you will provide technical oversight, monitor performance and ensure operational excellence throughout the stimulation campaign.

This contract assignment is expected to run for 3–6 months, with mobilisation from Queensland to the wellsite.


Key Responsibilities

Wellsite Operations

  • Represent the Operator at the wellsite during hydraulic fracturing operations.
  • Supervise all stimulation activities to ensure safe, efficient and compliant execution.
  • Monitor contractor performance against the approved stimulation programme.
  • Verify operational readiness prior to commencement of each stage.
  • Ensure all operations comply with approved procedures, risk assessments and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate daily operational activities between drilling, completions and stimulation contractors where required.
  • Manage operational changes and communicate technical recommendations to the Operator's engineering team.

Operational Performance

  • Monitor treatment execution, operational KPIs and equipment performance.
  • Identify operational risks and implement appropriate mitigation measures.
  • Support troubleshooting of operational issues to minimise non-productive time.
  • Verify operational reporting and treatment data throughout the campaign.
  • Ensure lessons learned are captured and communicated to the project team.

HSE & Assurance

  • Promote and maintain a strong safety culture across all wellsite activities.
  • Lead or participate in pre-job meetings, toolbox talks and safety observations.
  • Ensure permit to work, SIMOPS and isolation requirements are effectively managed.
  • Verify contractor compliance with HSE management systems and wellsite procedures.
  • Participate in incident investigations and corrective action implementation where required.

Stakeholder Management

  • Act as the primary wellsite representative for the Operator.
  • Maintain effective communication with onshore engineering and project teams.
  • Coordinate with service companies to ensure operational objectives are achieved.
  • Produce accurate daily reports and operational updates for project stakeholders.

Essential Experience

  • Demonstrated experience supervising hydraulic fracturing operations in an Operator or Company Representative capacity.
  • Strong knowledge of onshore unconventional well stimulation operations.
  • Experience managing multiple service providers during wellsite execution.
  • Proven understanding of stimulation equipment, pumping operations and treatment execution.
  • Strong knowledge of wellsite HSE management systems and operational risk management.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to make sound operational decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience preparing accurate daily operational reports.

Advantageous Experience

  • Previous experience as an Operator's Frac Supervisor or Company Representative.
  • Exposure to multi-well pad developments.
  • Experience working within Queensland onshore operations.
  • IWCF Well Control certification.
  • Experience supporting completion operations outside stimulation activities.

Required Certifications

Candidates should hold, or be able to obtain prior to mobilisation:

  • Current IWCF Well Control Certification 
  • Current First Aid Certificate
  • Valid Driver's Licence
  • Relevant Australian medical and site access requirements
    • Wellsite Permit Coordinator (WPC) Certificate
    • Industry Safety Induction
    • First Aid and CPRCertificate
    • Gas Test Atmospheres Certificate
    • Apply chain of responsibility legislation, regulations and workplace Certificate
