Maintenance Mechanic / Millwright

Location: Mississauga, ON
Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Shifts: Rotating (days, afternoons, nights) — 2 weeks per shift, weekends as required

Compensation:
$36.63 – $39.74/hour (non-licensed), plus shift premiums
(Starting rate with increases at 3 and 12 months)
$42.41/hour (licensed), plus shift premiums

About the Opportunity

Our client, a well-established manufacturing organization in Mississauga, is currently hiring a Maintenance Mechanic / Millwright.

The role is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing corrugator systems and supporting equipment to ensure efficient and safe plant operations. Responsibilities

  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair plant equipment including corrugators, slitters, conveyors, compressors, and boilers
  • Perform preventative maintenance and routine lubrication on all machinery
  • Monitor and operate boiler systems, including daily water testing and equipment checks
  • Repair steam-related systems such as pipes, pumps, and rotary joints
  • Complete minor electrical repairs and interpret basic schematics
  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs and documentation
  • Repair forklifts and related equipment (hydraulics, fuel systems, etc.)
  • Operate water treatment systems and record pH levels
  • Prepare and manage starch mixtures used in production processes
  • Monitor product quality metrics and adjust processes as required
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
  • Follow all health & safety policies and wear required PPE
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment
  • Standing, walking, and lifting required throughout the shift
  • Comfortable working around machinery, heat, and noise

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Maintenance Mechanic or Millwright license preferred
  • Stationary Engineer Certificate considered an asset
  • Electrical experience is an asset
  • Experience with preventative maintenance (PM) programs preferred
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
