Technical Skills:

About the Role:Join our team as we implement category management across the enterprise at the Government of Alberta. This transformative initiative aims to deliver operational and financial efficiencies to our user ministry partners and the public at large. Our work spans various procurement categories, including IT services, and involves collaborating closely with ministries to enhance processes and tools. We are seeking a dynamic, self-starting Business Process Analyst who is ready to champion change and manage multiple project streams while engaging stakeholders effectively.
Key Responsibilities:Data Enhancement & Quality Management:Lead initiatives to enhance business data quality, identify data gaps, and implement validation frameworks to improve data accuracy.
Dashboard Development & Reporting:Develop, enhance, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports, ensuring accuracy, usability, and real-time insights through SharePoint List integration and optimized DAX formulas.
Training & User Support:Conduct training sessions and develop user guides for Power BI users and other process improvement tools.
Process Optimization & Documentation:Collaborate with stakeholders to define, document, and optimize process flows using tools like Microsoft Visio. Maintain clear documentation of stakeholder workflows and process maps.
SharePoint Management:Refine and organize SharePoint repositories for contracts and data, ensuring accessibility and permissions management. Optimize workflows and enhance user experience.
Stakeholder Collaboration:Work with cross-functional teams to onboard stakeholders for new IT service enhancement projects. Ensure smooth adoption of tools and processes while maintaining strong relationships.
Presentations & Communication:Prepare and deliver professional presentations to communicate project progress, findings, and recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Technical Skills and Qualifications:• Proficiency in Power BI, including DAX, data modeling, and integrating SharePoint Lists.
• Advanced expertise in Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, INDEX-MATCH, and macros.
• Experience in managing SharePoint repositories, workflows, and permissions.
• Strong skills in creating process flows, diagrams, and visual representations using tools like Microsoft Visio.
• Demonstrated ability to identify and address data quality issues and implement data validation frameworks.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to support stakeholder onboarding and training.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects, timelines, and deliverables simultaneously.
• Experience in developing professional presentations and communicating effectively with diverse stakeholders.
• Analytical mindset with a strong problem-solving orientation.
Mandatory Training Courses:• Once hired the resource will be required to complete all mandatory training which includes but not limited to Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, Security/Cybersecurity, Information Management, and Respect in the Workplace. There may also be other mandatory and/or optional training.
Equipment requirements:• In the event that, the Contracted Resource is directed to work in-person, the Province shall provide the requisite office space, Computer, furniture and office supplies. The Province shall continue to ensure that the Contractor’s resources have the necessary access and credentials to the Government of Alberta’s system.
