Walmart – Backend Software Engineer

Job Description

We are looking for a strong Backend Software Engineer to design, develop, and support scalable distributed applications for Walmart’s technology platform. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Go/Golang and Java, messaging systems, databases, and Azure cloud technologies.

Responsibilities

Design and develop scalable backend services and microservices using Go and Java.

Build and maintain REST APIs and distributed applications.

Develop event-driven solutions using Kafka and/or ActiveMQ.

Work with SQL/NoSQL databases, including data modeling, queries, and performance optimization.

Develop, deploy, and support applications in Microsoft Azure environments.

Collaborate with Product, Engineering, QA, DevOps, and other cross-functional teams.

Troubleshoot production issues and improve application performance, scalability, reliability, and availability.

Participate in design discussions, code reviews, testing, and Agile/Scrum ceremonies.

Work with NATS messaging where applicable; experience with NATS is a plus.
