Automation Mechanic
Compton, CA

Position Overview
A prominent distribution center in Compton is seeking an Automation Mechanic to support the ongoing upkeep and reliability of its automated material handling equipment and automated selection systems. In this role, you will perform routine preventative and predictive maintenance, diagnose and correct electrical and mechanical faults, and partner with operations to minimize equipment downtime.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventative and predictive maintenance tasks across automation equipment and conveyor systems.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, and electronic malfunctions.
• Coordinate maintenance tasks alongside operations and maintenance planning teams.
• Utilize technical maintenance software systems to log and manage equipment histories, repairs, and inspection records.
• Provide technical support and train operations and maintenance staff on basic troubleshooting and minor corrective actions.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area while adhering to all company safety standards and procedures.

Required Qualifications

• Prior maintenance experience with demonstrated mechanical and electrical aptitude.
• Hands-on familiarity with conveyor systems and preventative maintenance practices.
• Strong electrical background with a sound understanding of industrial voltages.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and correct equipment faults both independently and collaboratively.
• Experience utilizing computer software systems to document maintenance, repairs, and inspections.
• Flexibility to work required schedules, including weekends, overtime, and holidays as operational needs require.
• Strong, demonstrated commitment to workplace safety.

Preferred Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience in an industrial, distribution, or manufacturing maintenance environment.
• Prior experience maintaining automated selection systems or advanced automated material handling systems.
