Maintenance Engineer

Position Overview
Our client, an established dairy manufacturing organization, is seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join their team in Livonia, Michigan. This role is responsible for overseeing maintenance initiatives, driving equipment reliability across processing and packaging lines—including fillers, silos, and vats—and leading preventative maintenance and TPM strategies. The ideal candidate pairs solid technical engineering and project management expertise with a passion for people-focused leadership and team development.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage engineering and equipment projects across plant operations from initial planning through execution.
• Champion Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) methodologies to optimize equipment uptime and operational efficiency.
• Develop, implement, and refine preventative maintenance (PM) processes and procedures.
• Provide people-centered leadership, guidance, and mentorship to maintenance team members.
• Support maintenance and troubleshooting on critical plant equipment, including liquid fillers, storage silos, and batch vats.

Required Qualifications

• Demonstrated hands-on experience with Total Productive Maintenance (TPM).
• Relevant degree or an equivalent combination of education and applicable technical/maintenance experience.
• Proven leadership experience with a strong passion for a people-focused leadership style.
• Demonstrated project management experience, with the ability to share concrete project examples.
• Ability to demonstrate past success in establishing and improving preventative maintenance processes.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience within a dairy manufacturing or food and beverage processing facility.
