Quality Engineer / Senior Quality Engineer
Location: Bowling Green, KY


Position Overview:
A premier automotive manufacturing organization in Bowling Green, KY is seeking experienced Quality Engineers and Senior Quality Engineers to join their plant quality team. This position ensures product quality according to customer-specific requirements, drives root cause analysis, leads continuous improvement initiatives, and supports new product launches. Candidates with strong backgrounds in AIAG Core Tools, customer corrective action management, and manufacturing operations are highly encouraged to apply. Leveling (QE vs. Senior QE) will be determined based on experience and supervisory capabilities.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in cross-functional APQP teams to develop, maintain, and review Control Plans, PFMEAs, and Process Flow diagrams.
  • Utilize AIAG Core Tools (APQP, FMEA, MSA, SPC) to ensure robust quality assurance and risk mitigation.
  • Develop, approve, and audit gauging and weld verification processes for new and existing programs.
  • Lead cross-functional problem-solving activities and root cause analysis for customer and internal non-conformances.
  • Manage customer PPAP sample submissions and review/approve supplier PPAP submissions.
  • Prepare inspection instructions, visual aids, check sheets, and maintain continuous improvement plans (A3/KPIs).
  • Manage customer corrective action submissions and track long-term containment and prevention activities.
  • (Senior Level) Directly lead assigned Department Leaders, Area Leaders, Quality Techs, and Team Members within assigned business units, including performance evaluations, goal setting, and talent reviews.
  • (Senior Level) Oversee annual FMEA reviews, drive risk reduction activities, and manage pass-through supplier controls.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required (Bachelor's degree preferred).
  • Quality Engineer Level: Minimum 1 year of quality control/quality assurance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Senior Quality Engineer Level: Minimum 5–10 years of manufacturing quality experience, including direct supervisory leadership over quality technicians or area leaders.
  • Proficiency with AIAG Core Tools (APQP, FMEA, MSA, SPC) and customer-specific automotive requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to read blueprints and apply GD&T, trigonometry, and basic math concepts.
  • Experience managing PPAP submissions and customer corrective actions.
  • Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Excel and Word.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in a technical or related field.
  • IATF 16949 Lead Auditor or Internal Auditor certification.
  • Hands-on experience with automated weld verification technologies, AI measurement tools, and PowerBI reporting.
