Position Overview
A leading automotive stamping and manufacturing organization is seeking a skilled Tool & Die Maker to support production operations. This position is responsible for analyzing specifications, laying out metal stock, operating machine tools, and fitting and repairing metalworking dies, cutting tools, jigs, fixtures, and gauges. The ideal candidate will bring strong hands-on expertise in maintaining and troubleshooting progressive, blank, and transfer dies both on the bench and directly within the press room.

Key Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, disassemble, inspect, weld, grind, and fit details for Progressive, Blank, and Transfer dies.
• Machine, grind, and fit punches and die details using knowledge of tooling, machining operations, and die functions.
• Perform in-press troubleshooting, repairs, sharpening, alignment, and timing to minimize downtime.
• Perform occasionally required die set-up, pilot release, timing, and feed mechanism adjustments.
• Interpret complex technical drawings, diagrams, and blueprints where construction details may need development.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with company standards and safety regulations (OHSA).

Required Qualifications

• 4+ years of Tool & Die Maker experience within metal stamping and the automotive industry.
• Proven experience troubleshooting and repairing progressive, blank, or transfer dies.
• Hands-on experience with machining, precision grinding, and fitting punches and die details.
• Demonstrated ability to read and understand complex technical drawings and diagrams.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot and repair die issues while in the press.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with 300 - 1,500 ton stamping presses.
• Completion of technical school courses through a four-year apprenticeship program.
