Tool & Die Technician | 2nd & 3rd Shifts
Location: Bowling Green, KY
Position Overview
A premier automotive manufacturing facility in Bowling Green, KY is seeking skilled Tool & Die Technicians to support heavy metal stamping operations. This position is responsible for constructing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing complex stamping tooling both in and out of the press to ensure high quality and production efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on stamping dies in and out of the press.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specs to perform precision work.
- Utilize precision measuring instruments to verify dimensional accuracy of tooling components.
- Perform TIG and MIG welding operations to modify, build, or repair die components.
- Safely operate standard tool-room machinery including lathes, mills, and surface grinders.
- Adhere strictly to plant safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) protocols.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of tool & die or skilled-trade manufacturing experience.
- Proven experience working with metal stamping tooling and press operations.
- Proficiency in TIG and MIG welding for tool repair.
- Demonstrated ability to read blueprints and use precision measuring equipment.
- Ownership of personal tools and toolbox.
Preferred Qualifications
- Journeyman Tool & Die Maker certification.
- Experience with automated press systems.
- Familiarity with CAD design software.
- Knowledge of continuous improvement and Lean manufacturing methodologies.
