Maintenance Technician | 1st Shift
Location: Oconomowoc, WI
Position Overview
A growing manufacturing company in the Oconomowoc area is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join their team. This role is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial production machinery to ensure minimal downtime and optimal operational efficiency. The ideal candidate possesses strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, a solid understanding of manufacturing processes, and a proactive approach to preventive maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and repairs on manufacturing machinery.
- Diagnose root causes of equipment failures and perform emergency repairs during production runs.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance and maintain accurate documentation and service records.
- Work with motors, sensors, air lines, high-pressure hoses, fluids, and control systems.
- Dismantle machinery to replace defective components using operations manuals and schematics.
- Evaluate equipment performance to distinguish between machine/setup issues and mechanical failures.
- Adhere to strict safety standards, including Lockout-Tagout (LOTO) protocols.
- Assist with general building maintenance and communicate with outside technical service providers as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Hands-on mechanical and electrical maintenance experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and repair industrial machinery and production equipment.
- Proficiency in reading equipment operations manuals, technical diagrams, and schematics.
- Solid understanding of Lockout-Tagout (LOTO) and industrial safety practices.
- Strong problem-solving mindset and willingness to expand technical skill sets.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge or basic understanding of PLCs and industrial control systems.
- Experience using ERP systems (such as Shop Track or Syteline) for maintenance logging.
- Valid Forklift Certification.
