Bilingual Production Lead
Location: Oconomowoc, WI
Position Overview
A growing manufacturing organization in Oconomowoc, WI, is seeking a hands-on, fluent English/Spanish Bilingual Production Lead to join their team. This role serves as a vital bridge between production employees, plant leadership, and HR. The ideal candidate will maintain a strong floor presence, train employees on standard operating procedures (SOPs), assist with quality monitoring, and ensure effective two-way communication across the manufacturing facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a primary bilingual communication and training resource on the production floor.
- Train manufacturing employees on standard operating procedures, work instructions, quality standards, and safety guidelines.
- Translate operational instructions, employee questions, and personnel communications between Spanish-speaking team members, supervisors, and HR.
- Maintain a consistent presence on the shop floor, observing processes, identifying quality issues, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
- Learn equipment operations to effectively train staff and step into production processes when hands-on support is needed.
- Assist with the creation and delivery of training materials, including potential video-based SOP training.
- Help maintain accurate process documentation and support a safe, positive workplace culture.
Required Qualifications
- Complete fluency in both English and Spanish (ability to communicate, translate, and explain complex manufacturing processes and workplace conversations effectively).
- Prior hands-on experience working in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Demonstrated ability or experience training employees, explaining procedures, and confirming work understanding.
- Strong communication skills with an approachable, steady demeanor when navigating workplace discussions.
- Willingness and ability to work on the production floor for the majority of the shift, wearing required PPE and lifting up to 50 lbs. as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous leadership experience as a Production Lead, Supervisor, Trainer, or Quality Technician.
- Experience in quality assurance, process improvement, or SOP compliance within an industrial or manufacturing setting.
- Familiarity with supporting HR-related communications while maintaining strict confidentiality.
