Quality Manager - 1st Shift
Location: Independence, KS

Position Overview
A leading manufacturing organization in Independence, KS is seeking an experienced Quality Manager to lead the plant’s quality function across a multi-shift operation. This individual will take full ownership of the facility’s Quality Management System, drive preparation for upcoming ISO 9001 audits, and serve as the primary interface for customer quality expectations and portal management. Relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership, direction, and strategy for the plant quality department across all operational shifts.
• Manage, maintain, and strengthen the facility's ISO 9001 Quality Management System and lead upcoming audit preparation efforts.
• Oversee customer complaint management, ensuring rapid, professional, and transparent responses through customer portals.
• Drive root-cause investigations, corrective actions, and preventative measures for internal and external quality issues.
• Partner with production and plant leadership to balance quality compliance with manufacturing throughput goals.

Required Qualifications

• Proven leadership experience in a Quality Manager or senior quality supervisory role within manufacturing.
• In-depth working knowledge and practical audit experience with ISO 9001 quality standards.
• Demonstrated experience managing customer quality interactions and customer portal communications.
• Strong capability to act autonomously, make critical decisions, and lead under pressure.
• Ability to support a multi-shift manufacturing plant environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience within automotive manufacturing environments.
• Knowledge or background in Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) compliance.
• Certified ISO 9001 Auditor or Six Sigma certifications.
