Tool & Die Technician | 3rd Shift
Location: Edgerton, OH

Position Overview
An established automotive manufacturing organization is seeking a skilled Tool & Die Technician to join its plant operations team. This role is responsible for repairing and maintaining stamping tooling to ensure production targets and high-quality standards are consistently met. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in die troubleshooting, general die repair, welding, and light precision machining within a high-pressure manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform general tooling repairs, welding, spotting, finishing, and preventative maintenance on stamping dies.
• Respond promptly to press line calls to troubleshoot and resolve tooling issues both inside and outside of the press.
• Execute small machining tasks using lathes, mills, and drill presses to repair or adjust die components.
• Maintain daily maintenance tracking logs, repair request sheets, PM check sheets, and communication logs.
• Assist, train, and guide apprentice-level die maintenance personnel.
• Operates overhead cranes and toolroom equipment safely while maintaining 5S standards across the tooling department.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with 3 to 6 years of related tool and die experience/training (or equivalent combination).
• Minimum of 3 years of hands-on tool and die repair experience in a metal stamping facility.
• Demonstrated welding proficiency (TIG, Arc, MIG) and gas/plasma cutting skills.
• Ability to perform small machining operations using mills, lathes, and drill presses.
• Strong ability to read and interpret complex die and part engineering drawings.
• Valid First Aid certification and strong knowledge of occupational health and safety standards.
• Ability to regularly lift and move die components up to 50 pounds.
