Light Gauge Steel Framer
Location: Holland, MI

Position Overview:
Our client is a commercial steel fabrication and installation company seeking Light Gauge Steel Framers to support commercial construction projects throughout the Holland and Grand Rapids, MI areas. This hands-on field position is responsible for installing light gauge steel framing systems used in commercial buildings, including wall framing, trusses, and structural supports. Working alongside field crews, this role helps ensure framing is accurately installed and prepared for the next phase of construction.

Key Responsibilities:
• Install light gauge steel studs, tracks, headers, bracing, trusses, and related framing components.
• Read and interpret blueprints, layouts, and construction drawings.
• Measure, cut, fit, and fasten framing materials using appropriate tools and hardware.
• Install structural bridging, backing, and additional framing supports.
• Verify framing is level, square, plumb, and ready for follow-on trades.
• Safely operate hand tools and power tools on active construction sites.
• Follow established safety procedures while working in a commercial construction environment.
• Work collaboratively with field crews to complete projects efficiently.

Key Qualifications:
• Experience working in a construction, framing, carpentry, or skilled trades environment.
• Ability to read a tape measure and accurately measure/layout materials.
• Experience using hand tools and power tools.
• Ability to follow directions, work independently, and maintain a strong focus on safety.
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.

Strongly Preferred Qualifications:
• Previous light gauge steel framing experience.
• Experience installing light gauge steel studs, tracks, headers, bracing, or trusses.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, or construction layouts.
• Previous commercial construction experience.
• Experience assembling or installing light gauge steel framing systems.
