Position: Maintenance Technician | All shifts Available!
Location: Battle Creek, MI
A well-established automotive manufacturing company is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Technician to support the reliability and performance of automated production equipment. This role is responsible for diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical systems across the facility while contributing to continuous improvement and lean initiatives. The position plays a critical role in minimizing downtime, maintaining safety standards, and ensuring production goals are achieved.
Key Responsibilities:
Complete preventive maintenance activities on manufacturing equipment to ensure optimal performance
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
Safely diagnose issues within energized electrical panels
Support continuous improvement efforts including Kaizen events and lean manufacturing initiatives
Contribute to departmental goals tied to safety, quality, and operational performance metrics
Adapt and learn processes related to thermal forming, adhesive systems, molding, isocyanate foam, high-pressure water, and assembly operations
Operate powered industrial vehicles, aerial lifts, and cranes as required
Modify and edit control programs on programmable devices including Allen-Bradley SLC-500, ControlLogix, PanelView, and PanelView Plus systems
Work required overtime beyond 40 hours per week and support various production shifts as needed
Key Qualifications / Education:
Minimum three years of maintenance experience within a manufacturing environment
At least three years of experience maintaining and troubleshooting automated machinery
Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to use machining tools and powered hand tools
Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and control diagrams
Willingness to work overtime and flexible shifts as required
Experience with robotic systems (Fanuc, Motoman, ABB) preferred
Electrical journeyman certification preferred
Exposure to Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) systems preferred
Experience working with smart camera systems such as Keyence, Cognex, or Banner preferred
