Job Description

Job Title: VP of Auctions (Deal Origination & Asset Disposition)
Location: Remote (U.S. Based) / Travel Required

Position Overview: Our client, a heavy-hitting leader in the industrial machinery and asset liquidation space, is seeking a high-caliber VP of Auctions to drive large-scale deal origination. Unlike traditional operational roles, this position is a high-level strategic sales and relationship management role focused on "getting a seat at the table." You will be responsible for identifying and winning full-facility liquidation opportunities, leveraging your network to position our client’s transparent auction platform as the premier alternative to traditional dealer buyouts. This is an entrepreneurial, performance-driven opportunity for a dealmaker who thrives on autonomy and high-stakes negotiations.

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Source and secure full-facility liquidation deals (20–500+ machines) through plant closures, bankruptcies, and corporate restructurings.
  • Cultivate and maintain a robust referral network, including banks, asset-based lenders, bankruptcy attorneys, and private equity firms.
  • Compete for and win business by demonstrating the superior ROI of a structured public auction process over direct machinery sales.
  • Manage the client relationship from initial discovery through deal closing, handing off technical execution to the internal operations team.
  • Scale the national network of end-users and decision-makers across the manufacturing and metalworking sectors.

 Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of leadership experience in auctions and industrial asset liquidation.
  • Proven track record of sourcing and winning full-facility liquidation deals (not just individual asset sales).
  • An existing, transferable network of relationships within banking, lending, or distressed asset law.
  • Deep knowledge of the industrial machinery ecosystem (CNC, metalworking, fabrication).
  • Ability to travel 25%–40% (approx. 1–2 weeks per month) to evaluate sites and meet with stakeholders.

 Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active Auctioneer’s license.
  • Existing "book of business" or a repeatable network generating $700K+ in annual deal activity.
  • Experience in the Mexico manufacturing market.
