Production Supervisor – 2nd & 3rd Shift
Location: Battle Creek, MI


Position Overview

Our client is seeking experienced and motivated Production Supervisors to support both 2nd and 3rd shift operations within their fast-paced manufacturing environment. These leaders will be responsible for driving safety, quality, productivity, and team performance while helping create a positive and accountable culture on the production floor.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on leader who can make decisions confidently, lead by example, and help develop production teams in a high-volume manufacturing setting. Candidates should be comfortable managing change, solving problems quickly, and balancing operational goals with employee engagement and development.


Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support production team members in daily manufacturing operations.
  • Lead approximately 50 employees alongside another shift supervisor to ensure production goals are met safely and efficiently.
  • Promote and enforce a strong safety culture through accountability, coaching, and compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Provide training, development, and performance feedback to team members while helping foster teamwork and morale.
  • Monitor and drive key performance metrics related to safety, quality, productivity, cost, and delivery.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and perform root cause analysis to support continuous improvement efforts.
  • Coordinate staffing and labor allocation to support operational demands and minimize inefficiencies.
  • Maintain shift communication, production reporting, payroll/timekeeping documentation, and operational handoff between shifts.
  • Support Lean manufacturing initiatives, process improvements, and housekeeping standards throughout the facility.
  • Collaborate with Operations and Plant leadership to identify opportunities for improved production flow and efficiency.


Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of leadership or supervisory experience in a manufacturing, production, or operations environment.
  • Strong ability to lead teams in a fast-paced production setting.
  • Experience coaching, developing, and holding employees accountable.
  • Ability to make decisions quickly and confidently in a production environment.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable working extended hours as needed to support production and operational demands.
  • Proficient computer skills and ability to manage production reporting and employee documentation.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Automotive manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Manufacturing, Operations, Business Management, or related field preferred but not required.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification preferred.
  • Experience with Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
