2nd Shift Supervisor
Location: Battle Creek, MI
Position Overview
Our client, a leading organization in the industrial service and laundry industry, is seeking a hands-on Working Shift Supervisor to lead their growing 2nd shift team. They're looking for someone who leads by example and is willing to work side-by-side with their team on the production floor. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and work actively alongside a team of 8+ associates to meet daily production goals, including garment sorting, mat processing, and wash aisle operations.
- Coordinate production activities with stockroom, route service, and maintenance departments to ensure timing and process flow.
- Provide real-time coaching, training, and development to associates to improve performance and reduce turnover.
- Monitor quality standards and troubleshoot equipment or process bottlenecks throughout the shift.
- Manage administrative tasks including time and attendance tracking, production reporting, and labor coordination.
- Ensure a safe and clean working environment by upholding all safety rules and company policies.
- Provide dotted-line oversight for dock and route loading operations, including moving vehicles on-site as needed.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of leadership experience in a production, manufacturing, or operations environment.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Willingness and physical ability to perform labor-intensive tasks (lifting, hoisting, rolling mats) alongside the team.
- Proven ability to lead through coaching and relationship-building
- Proficient computer skills (MS Office) and the ability to learn internal production and payroll systems.
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
- Flexibility to work overtime, including early starts or late finishes as production needs dictate.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in industrial laundry, food production, or logistics environments.
- Background in process coordination or project management.
