Maintenance Supervisor
Location: Huger, South Carolina
Position Overview:
Our client, a leading organization in the steel processing industry, is seeking a Maintenance Department Supervisor to lead their technical team. This individual is directly responsible for assessing machine deficiencies related to long-term wear, misuse, and operational needs. The role focuses on executing repairs, driving machine upgrades, and implementing modern system improvements to enhance safety and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Directly supervise all maintenance team members, providing mentoring and coaching to the technical staff.
- Identify and implement machine improvements, including upgrades to scanners, interlocks, and mechanical/electrical systems to address obsolescence.
- Analyze maintenance workforce utilization and downtime data to improve overall productivity and plant efficiency.
- Coordinate project work to ensure on-time completion within budget while identifying opportunities for cost reductions and increased uptime.
- Collaborate with corporate electrical and mechanical systems teams to resolve complex plant concerns and technical issues.
- Perform manufacturing process design, analysis, and root cause analysis for preventative maintenance.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, specifically improving processes and KPIs.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, or Systems Engineering (or equivalent professional experience).
- Proven ability to supervise others and manage cross-functional team collaborations.
- Comprehensive understanding of manufacturing processes and technical skills in mechanical/electrical systems.
- Strong software proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Flexibility to work off-shift hours, including evenings and weekends, when equipment or operational needs require support.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong background in project management and strategic operational planning.
- Experience in data collection and corrective response implementation.
