Journeyman Electrician – 1st Shift

An established manufacturing operation is seeking a skilled Journeyman Electrician to support first-shift maintenance activities within a production environment. This hands-on role is responsible for troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems across all manufacturing equipment to ensure safe and reliable operations. The position requires a strong sense of urgency, a safety-first mindset, and the ability to minimize downtime while supporting overall plant performance and continuous improvement efforts.

Key Responsibilities:
• Install, service, and repair plant electrical systems including motors, control panels, lighting, power distribution components, and equipment wiring
• Diagnose and resolve electrical issues using appropriate testing tools and systematic troubleshooting methods
• Interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and blueprints to complete repairs and modifications accurately
• Perform preventative maintenance to improve equipment uptime and operational reliability
• Ensure all work meets applicable electrical codes, regulations, and safety standards
• Document maintenance activities, system updates, and inspection results accurately
• Support installation of new equipment and facility improvement projects
• Recommend enhancements to electrical systems and processes to improve performance and efficiency
• Partner with maintenance and production teams to sustain daily plant operations
• Adhere to all safety policies, including lockout/tagout procedures and PPE requirements
• Respond to urgent electrical issues as needed, including overtime or on-call support

Key Qualifications / Education:
• Valid Journeyman Electrician Card required
• Minimum 3–5 years of industrial or commercial electrical experience preferred
• Strong understanding of electrical systems, PLCs, VFDs, motor controls, and industrial automation
• Demonstrated ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings
• Strong troubleshooting skills and mechanical aptitude with experience using hand and power tools
• Ability to manage multiple priorities with attention to detail and work both independently and collaboratively
• Commitment to workplace safety and ability to follow all safety rules and regulations
• Overtime beyond 40 hours per week is required as an essential function of the role
