Job Title: Robotic Weld Technician
Job Summary:
The Robotic Weld Technician is responsible for programming, setting up, and maintaining robotic welding cells. The role includes both tack and hand-welding parts based on production drawings, WPS, and other documentation. The technician will use measurement equipment and complete quality documentation to ensure assemblies meet applicable standards. This position reports to the Operations Manager.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Program robotic GMAW systems (Yaskawa/Motoman experience preferred).
Perform tack and hand welding using GMAW processes.
Prepare components for welding and set up fixtures.
Position, align, fit, and weld parts to produce subassemblies according to production procedures and documentation.
Program automated equipment to produce welds, including touch sensing, alternate coordinate systems, weave patterns, and coordinating auxiliary axes.
Set up jobs and retouch points on existing robotic programs.
Verify workpiece conformance using inspection equipment.
Examine completed assemblies to ensure compliance with welding codes.
Complete process inspections, certifications, and production documentation.
Troubleshoot production issues and support the production process.
Maintain robotic equipment and end-of-arm tooling.
Perform scheduled maintenance and document maintenance activities.
Communicate effectively with the team regarding machinery, downtime, or production issues.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements:
Regularly required to walk, stand, bend, twist, stoop, and lift up to 50 pounds (with or without assistance).
Work is performed in a manufacturing setting.
Preemployment Requirements:
Drug screen, physical exam, and 50-pound lift test required.
Qualifications:
3+ years of GMAW welding experience (required).
1+ year of experience programming robotic GMAW systems (required).
