Environmental Health & Safety Manager
Job Summary:
This role supports a manufacturing organization by leading and overseeing environmental, health, and safety programs to ensure regulatory compliance, risk reduction, and a safe workplace culture. The position balances hands-on operational involvement with strategic oversight, including leadership of EHS initiatives, interaction with regulatory bodies, and communication with senior leadership. The role has a direct impact on employee safety, environmental compliance, and overall operational continuity.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead and manage environmental, health, and safety programs within a manufacturing environment
• Interpret and apply environmental and safety regulations to ensure ongoing compliance
• Analyze technical, scientific, and regulatory information to support informed decision-making
• Respond to inquiries or concerns from employees, customers, regulatory agencies, and business partners
• Prepare written materials, reports, and presentations for leadership and external audiences
• Present EHS-related information to management teams, boards, and other stakeholder groups
• Collect and evaluate data to identify risks, trends, and areas for improvement
• Apply statistical, mathematical, and analytical concepts to practical safety and environmental scenarios
• Provide leadership, guidance, and oversight to support organizational safety objectives
Key Qualifications / Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field with at least four years of relevant experience, or a minimum of ten years of EHS experience with OSHA General Industry 30-hour Training
• Prior supervisory or management experience
• Demonstrated EHS experience within a manufacturing setting
• Experience working with environmental regulations and compliance requirements
• ISO 14001 and/or ISO 45001 certification, or ability to obtain certification within six months of hire
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, with ability to learn and use additional EHS-related systems
• Strong communication, organizational, interpersonal, and leadership skills
• Ability to work in an office environment with occasional walking and lifting up to 20 pounds
